With words like chan, san, kun...is the "n" sound at the end silent?? Or just very faint?

Aion - Need Input

So I have been hearing a lot about Aion since it came out. Thing is, I'm not hearing in-depth opinions on it. I refuse to play WoW because I am a natural obsessor and am too afraid I'll start ignoring my real life to play it. LOL. Not that likely, but I'm not risking it. Hubbs played WoW for less than 6 months before he ran out of stuff to do/obtain and got bored with it and quit.

Hubbs' friend lent us his cd, but we still need to cough up $50 for a cd key and we're not willing to do it without significant understanding of the game [since we can't try it out].

So, here's what I'd like to know from those of you who play/played Aion.

- Pros
- Cons
- Similarities to WoW
- Differences from WoW

Thanks in advance!

Dumbest Moment in Gaming (oops)

Changing "Blonde Moment" to 'Dumb Moment'.

Apperently, I offended people. I would like to say that I did not mean to offend anyone by saying this, and that I don't actually think blondes are 'dumb'.

I'm just used to the saying 'blonde moment'. Sorry.

-----------------

I was playing Legend of Zelda Windwaker with my lil bro. I was in some kinda forest-ish island. Well there's this one little island next to that place that makes statues of pictures that you take with your Pictobox.

The only way to get to that island is a long, complicated process of going from one plant to the next and next, going to the edge of the Forest Island, and using a special leaf to float from that island you're on, to there.

That is till you get a ladder right when you first visit.

I, even though I have used this ladder to climb DOWN from the Picto Island, did not think ONCE "Hey, I can use this to go UP the island."

I kept using the long annoying process and take the ladder as an exit, never occuring to me that I can use it as an entrance.

Could of been a real time saver.

So, what was your most dumbest moment while gaming?

Dear Dr. Kwon,

Thank you for helping me with my Fulbright application. I will let you know in February if the Korean committee will be reviewing it/the application.

Fulbright= 플러브라이트 ?? I still have trouble with "Konglish".

Also, what's a good way to end a letter/note?

Ridiculous reasons you don't play certain video games.

Nov. 11th, 2009 | 02:08 pm
posted by: ethe_real_ity in girl_gamers

I love horror games, but there is one series that I have absolutely refused to play: Resident Evil (at least the older titles). Why? Because I have a fairly severe phobia of spiders. It's not just RE, though; I pretty much avoid all games that have spiders. I've even had a hard time playing Zelda: OoT because of the skulltulas.

But unfortunately (fortunately?), that day has come where I'm being pressed to at least try to overcome my fear of spiders, albeit virtual ones. I'm a pretty big fan of BioWare and have caved in to purchasing DA:O. o_O This will be interesting...but I figure if I can be forced (well, more like pinned down) to sit through the entirety of Arachnophobia without later having nightmares, there may be hope for me yet.

Anyway, it makes me wonder...does anyone else have peculiar and/or perhaps trivial reasons for not playing certain games?

Awesome Pheonix Wright Shirts/Mario & Luigi : Bowser's Inside Story.

I saw a girl wearing the Pheonix Wright one in black, and I am TOTALLY getting it.

Also, if you haven't played Mario & Luigi : Boswer's Inside Story, I absolutely love it. It's really cool, and the storyline is actually very interesting and easy to follow. The battle system is turn-based, but the new moves and special moves are really cool. Bowser even has moves using Koopas, Goombas, and Shyguys; not to mention when he's giant.

Who else really enjoyed it? :D

Hi ya'll, I'm selling some more of my Japanese study aids. Both are in great condition, just want to get rid of them because they are superfluous materials.

- Essential Kanji by PG O'Neill. Perfect condition.
- Japanese Street Slang by Peter Constantine. In really good condition, a few words are underlined.

Both books retail for about $15, selling both for $10 with S&H included, or $5 each, S&H included.

Comment if you're interested, thanks!

My boyfriend recently found it at a GameStop; we drove about an hour or so just to pick it up.

And it is absolutely AMAZING.

I've watched him play it, and it is so beautiful. I am going to steal it away from him, as well as Shadow of the Colossus.

I highly, HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone out there.

It's rare, so good luck finding it for a reasonable price (aka $40 or so).

The Last Guardian trailer almost made me cry.

I haven't downloaded a game from Stardock in a long time. I was thinking of Downloading Dragon Age:Origins, buts its huge and so forth. They're customer service decent(does it even exist?)? How well do they deal with disconnections during downloads? How fast have you been able to download?(I use cable)

And any opinions on the game if you've played it?

Mass Effect

Nov. 10th, 2009 | 12:55 pm
mood: cheerful cheerful
posted by: halrenna in girl_gamers

So, as some of you may know, Steam had a 50% special on Mass Effect this weekend, and my boyfriend suggested I get it. (When I questioned him about it, he reminded me that he'd played it months back and that it was one of the few games he actually thoroughly enjoyed anymore... which is saying a lot.)

So I went ahead and bought it on Saturday, and wow. I can't believe I didn't get this game ages ago! I'm having so much fun with the level of interactivity involved and all the different conversations you can have (and everyone has a voice actor, which is so cool). The amount of detail and information the creators put into the history, politics, races, planets and star systems are pretty awesome, too. You can even go to Luna (our moon) and see a really spectacular view of Earth from it.
I haven't even beaten the game yet and I'm super excited to play it all over again just so I can give my character a different "personality" and see where it leads me. I had been playing Borderlands (another really fun one) before this and leveling a Siren, but I haven't even opened that game since I bought this; ME has just completely taken the cake.

Has anyone else ever "discovered" a game well after its release? I honestly hadn't even heard of it except when my b/f had mentioned he was playing it ages back.
