Hey Allie, I just wanted to give my opinion on Japan if you don't mind. If it's something you really think you'd enjoy I'd say go for it. Yes, a lot *can* happen state-side, but life is all about taking risks. What happens between you and Andrew is something you can both talk about. I believe he's going for a PhD in physics so he may not even stay in NY in the first place (sounded like he wanted to do high-energy/particle, so Chicago maybe?). You should both talk about it and see where you both stand. He'll be really busy with grad school and you'll be busy trying to get stuff done in Japan, so it may work out find if you guys can do the long-distance thing. Your grandfather's health is an issue that will continue to be an issue as time progresses. Spend as much time with him as you can and don't have regrets. Look into teaching English in Japan for a year. I know there's a program called JET that does it and I'm sure there are plenty of other programs. Perhaps you and Molly could ask Hannah and other friends of opportunities that they may have heard about, too?
